Welcome to Triangle Travel Ball (“we,” “our,” or “us”). We operate the website located at www.triangletravelball.com(the “Site”), a community platform connecting travel baseball and softball players, coaches, and teams across the Triangle region of North Carolina.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your personal information when you visit our Site or use our services. By using the Site, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your data with third parties for marketing or commercial purposes without your express written consent.

2a. Information You Provide Directly

When you create an account or post content on the Site, we may collect:

  • Account information: name, email address, and profile details provided during sign-up (including via Google Sign-In).
  • Post content: tryout listings, scrimmage events, and player profiles that you voluntarily submit, including team names, locations, contact information, and descriptions.
  • Contact messages: content you submit through our contact form, including your name, email address, and message.

2b. Information Collected Automatically

When you visit the Site, we automatically collect certain technical data, including:

  • IP address and general geographic location
  • Browser type and version
  • Pages visited and time spent on the Site
  • Referring URLs
  • Device type and operating system

This data is collected through standard web server logs and analytics tools and is used solely for operating and improving the Site.

2c. Authentication Data

If you sign in using Google OAuth, we receive your name and email address from Google as part of the authentication process. We do not receive or store your Google password. Session tokens are stored securely in cookies to keep you signed in.

We use essential cookies required for authentication and session management. These cookies are necessary for the Site to function and cannot be disabled if you wish to use account-based features. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect only to:

  • Create and manage your account
  • Display your publicly submitted posts (tryouts, scrimmages, player profiles) to other Site visitors
  • Send transactional emails (e.g., sign-in links, post approval notifications)
  • Respond to your contact form submissions
  • Moderate content and enforce our community standards
  • Analyze aggregate, anonymized usage patterns to improve the Site
  • Comply with applicable laws and legal obligations

We will not use your personal information for any purpose not listed above without first obtaining your express written consent.

4. Public Content

Content you choose to post on the Site — including tryout listings, scrimmage events, and player profiles — is intended to be publicly visible. This content may include your name, team name, location, phone number, or email address as you enter it. Please only post information you are comfortable sharing publicly.

You may request removal of your publicly posted content at any time by contacting us at jason@triangletravelball.com or through your account dashboard.

5. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell your personal data. We do not share your personal information with third parties for advertising, marketing, or any commercial purpose without your express written consent.

We may share your information only in the following limited circumstances:

  • Service providers: We use Supabase (database and authentication), Vercel (web hosting), and Google (OAuth sign-in). These providers process data on our behalf under their own privacy policies and are contractually prohibited from using your data for their own purposes.
  • Legal compliance: If required by law, subpoena, court order, or other governmental authority, we may disclose information as necessary.
  • Safety: To protect the rights, property, or safety of Triangle Travel Ball, our users, or the public.
  • Business transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your data may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you via email or a prominent notice on the Site before your data is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with our services. You may delete your account and associated data at any time by contacting us at jason@triangletravelball.com.

Publicly posted content (tryouts, scrimmages, player profiles) may remain visible until you request its removal. Contact form messages are retained for up to 24 months to support follow-up communications.

  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete information
  • Delete your personal information and account
  • Withdraw consent for any use of your data at any time

8. Children's Privacy

Triangle Travel Ball is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately and we will delete it.

Player profiles for minors may be posted by a parent or guardian who accepts responsibility for the accuracy and appropriateness of the information submitted.

9. Data Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. These measures include encrypted data transmission (HTTPS), secure authentication, and access controls.

No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security. In the event of a data breach that affects your personal information, we will notify you as required by applicable law.

The Site may contain links to external websites (e.g., team websites, registration platforms, Perfect Game profiles). This Privacy Policy does not apply to those external sites. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party sites you visit.
